Better Jobs Ontario
Effective April 29, 2022, Ontario government expanded the program to better help people who may face challenges finding stable jobs, youth and people on social assistance. If you have been unemployed for six months or longer, and are part of a low-income household, you may benefit from these changes.Â
To better reflect the expansion of the program, we renamed the program Better Jobs Ontario (formerly Second Career).

About this funding
Better Job Ontario incentive is funding available for those who have been recently laid off. The goal of this program is to train professionals for programs with high career opportunities, skills training, and programs that have high demand (sector-wise).

How does this funding help?
Better Jobs Ontario helps covers costs while enrolled in a program by covering:
- Books or manuals, workbooks or other instructional costs
- Living Expenses
- Care for Dependants or
- Disability supports
- Travel & transportation
How is Qualified for Better Jobs Ontario?
- You have been laid off and have not been working
- You have been laid off and are working a temporary job just to cover costs
