Forging Industry Partnerships at TWC 2026

Together We Care (TWC) 2026

The Together We Care (TWC) 2026 Convention in Toronto marked a key milestone in our mission to bridge the gap between high-quality education and meaningful employment, driven by our continued commitment to forging strong partnerships with employers who actively support workforce development and student success.

1. Why Together We Care Convention?

The Together We Care (TWC) Convention & Trade Show is Canada’s largest partnership event for the seniors’ care sector. Organized by the Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA) and the Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA), it serves as a massive collaborative hub. It’s where policy, innovation, and frontline care meet to discuss the future of aging in Ontario.

2. Industry Leaders & Care Providers in Attendance

It was a privilege to hear from Raymond Cho, who addressed delegates and reinforced a shared commitment to supporting Ontario’s seniors. Presence of Peter Kaftarian, who joined attendees at Together We Care 2026 (#TWC2026) and shared valuable insights on the province’s priorities for senior care.

From inspiring keynotes to engaging discussions and vibrant evening networking, the event reflected a strong sense of purpose across the sector. The energy throughout the conference highlighted how meaningful progress in senior living is driven by collaboration, shared knowledge, and ongoing dialogue among stakeholders.

As exhibitors, we had the opportunity to be part of a diverse and high-energy environment that brought together healthcare professionals, industry leaders, and decision-makers from across the province. The exhibition floor featured a wide range of organizations representing the long-term care, retirement, and healthcare sectors, creating a valuable space for connection and collaboration. Here are a few of them below, with a detailed list of participating organizations available in the accompanying document for reference.

  1. Long-Term Care & Retirement Leaders: Key highlights included industry pioneers like Schlegel Villages, Sienna Senior Living, and Revera.
  2. Healthcare Giants: Major suppliers and innovators such as Abbott Laboratories Co., Medline Canada, and Baxter.
  3. Specialized Services: Vital support organizations like the Alzheimer Society of Ontario, National Pharmacy, and the Middlesex-London Health Unit.
  4. Operational Partners: Technology and facility experts including Diversey Healthcare, Ecolab, and PointClickCare.

3. Why TWC? Our Student-First Approach

Our primary focus in attending was to build and strengthen a network of placement sites that directly support our students’ success. At A1 Global College, we see learning as something that extends far beyond the classroom. While theory builds the foundation, it is during clinical placement that students truly begin to apply their knowledge, build confidence, and develop the hands-on skills needed in real care environments.

Through meaningful, face-to-face conversations with administrators from long-term care homes and retirement residences, we were able to open doors to new placement opportunities that make it easier for our students to gain practical experience.

For programs such as Personal Support Worker (PSW), where clinical placement is a mandatory component of graduation, these connections play a vital role in ensuring students are supported every step of the way.

By engaging with staffing agencies and direct care providers, we are continuously working to connect our students with real-world settings where they can learn alongside experienced industry professionals. These experiences not only help fulfill program requirements but also prepare students to confidently step into the healthcare workforce with the skills, exposure, and understanding needed to succeed from day one.

4. A1 Global College: Connecting at TWC

For A1 Global College, TWC wasn’t just an event – it was a mission. Our team, Vaibhav Sachdeva, Sameer Gambhir, Vagner de Carvalho Silva, Rache Dsouzal, and Harpreet Mudan, approached the floor with a clear and shared focus: our students and their future success.

Throughout the event, we engaged in over 300 interactions and held nearly 200 in-depth conversations with potential partners across the healthcare and senior care sectors. Each conversation was an opportunity to better understand employer needs, while also showcasing how our specialized healthcare programs are designed to prepare students for real-world challenges. These discussions reinforced the value A1 Global graduates bring to an industry that continues to face growing staffing demands.

At the same time, the event significantly enhanced our visibility within the sector. Many attendees returned to our booth after initial visits, reflecting growing recognition of A1 Global College as a trusted name in healthcare training and education.

Beyond connections and visibility, TWC also served as a valuable learning experience. Through direct engagement with employers, we gained firsthand insights into the certifications, competencies, and practical skills currently in demand. This feedback is instrumental in helping us continuously refine our programs to stay aligned with industry expectations.

Equally important were the relationships built with other organizations and industry vendors. These connections open the door to potential training collaborations and partnerships that can further enhance the employability of our graduates.

Overall, TWC 2026 was not just about participation – it was about purpose. Every interaction, every conversation, and every connection made contributes to a larger goal: ensuring our students are well-prepared, well-connected, and confident as they transition from education into meaningful careers in healthcare.

The success of TWC 2026 is a win for every A1 Global student. We are currently processing these new connections to open up even more doors for your future careers.
